Some Things Are Not What They Apper To Be
Wa-Hi’s boys ended their 2011-12 basketball regular season with a rout of Chiawana in the Blue Devil gym last Saturday night.
The win pulled Wa-Hi into a three-way tie for fourth place in the league with Wenatchee and Moses Lake.
Afterward, coach John Golden said he was sure that his team would be on the road for its district tournament opener on Friday – possibly as the No.6 seed.
Later on Saturday night, I was in the office preparing the game story for Sunday’s paper. Golden called and provided me with an internet site that would confirm Friday’s district matchups – 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5.
About two minutes later, an elated Golden called me back and said the Blue Devils would be the district’s No.4 seed and host Wenatchee on Friday at 7 p.m.
The information proved to be incorrect.
Wa-Hi will, in fact, travel to Moses Lake on Friday.
It was an interesting 36-48 hour period – a window in time that provided its share of twists and turns.
